About Takniki Kala

Takniki Kala – The Art of Technology began not in a boardroom, but in a living room.

When Shubh Mehta, then a Grade 9 student, noticed that the children of his househelp struggled with even the most basic use of technology, he decided to help. What started as simple evening sessions, teaching them how to type, search on Google, and create digital drawings; quickly grew. Their friends joined in. Then children from nearby buildings. Soon, word spread. That small act of teaching became a movement.

Takniki Kala was born out of the belief that every child deserves to understand the digital world they’re growing up in.

Today, the initiative reaches out to children in government and municipal schools — children who may never have touched a laptop before. Through hands-on sessions, they learn how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, type confidently, and explore the internet safely and responsibly.

While over 65% of Indian school children live in rural areas, less than 9% of rural households have a computer at home (NSSO). This isn’t just a gap. It’s a wall that separates millions of young minds from opportunity.

Takniki Kala works to tear down that wall — one classroom, one session, one smile at a time. It’s about more than just teaching technology. It’s about creating confidence, curiosity, and a future where no child is left behind because of the zip code and social standing they were born into.
